| More Information: | The Clinical Informatics Research Group (https://www.cirg.washington.edu/)
is looking for a student (graduate or undergraduate) to work ½ time, up to
full time over the summer, to implement NLP methods to identify content in
clinical notes. The goal of the project is to identify specific types of
provider-patient interactions, as
documented in daily progress notes and clinical summaries. Required experience
includes familiarity with Python machine learning (scikit-learn) and NLP
libraries (nltk). Even better would be familiarity with neural models (word
embeddings, CNNs for text categorization).
We’re also interested in exploring alternative strategies using Amazon
Comprehend Medical. You would be working with faculty members from the Schools
of Medicine and Nursing, and with a software engineer already familiar with the
data. Our goals are primarily
to identify documented interactions as part of a larger project, but there are
opportunities to identify a research project within this work if you are looking
for a capstone or thesis topic. Pay commensurate with experience. Please send a
brief summary of
your interest and technical skills to lober@uw.edu,
with “NLP student posting” in the subject line. |
