Speech at Microsoft is looking for talented and experienced Program Manager to
help us take our visions of the future and turn them into reality for everyday
users. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving core speech recognition
engine technology development. You will work with teams within Speech at
Microsoft as well as internal and external partners to gather requirements and
then turn them into specifications as well as coordinate schedules and
deliverables. The Speech at Microsoft team currently designs, builds, and
delivers speech technologies and experiences to a variety of teams inside
Microsoft: Xbox, Windows Phone, Exchange, Office Communications Server, Tellme,
Windows, and more!
To be successful with this exciting opportunity, you must have outstanding
organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills demonstrated by
previously working successfully across group boundaries. You should be very
familiar with software development processes and have proven past experiences as
an individual contributing Program Manager, or equivalent experience. Due to the
technical nature of this position, demonstrated experience working with complex
algorithms and an ability to deliver high quality, complete systems in a highly
collaborative team environment is a key requirement. The ideal candidate will
have at least 2 years of software development experience that encompasses all
phases of the product development cycle and have a BS in Computer Science or
equivalent work experience. No prior speech experience is required, though a
passion for technology, an interest in learning and a history of strong team
success is expected. Non-US English language and/or cultural experiences is a
plus.
You will be responsible for delivering core speech recognition feature
specifications, developing and tracking project schedules across dev, test, and
pm, and effectively managing dependencies across internal and external teams.
