Computational Linguists will help develop exciting natural language applications
for 
consumer device by developing and tuning rule-based grammars and statistical
models 
for natural language understanding.  The aim is to provide results which reflect
a deep 
understanding of the intent and which support a useful, conversational
interaction with an 
increasingly intelligent backend.

Skills/Requirements

 Experience with working on NLP/NLU technologies 

 Knowledge of Statistical Modeling skills

 Good analytical skills

 Knowledge of existing Machine Learning/Classification techniques

 Good coding skills

 Eagerness to carry research ideas into working products

 Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that includes frequent releases

 The following are a plus

 Good understanding of C# or Java

 Good understanding of Perl or Python

 Good understanding of Unix based operating systems

 Deep understanding of OO design

 Good database knowledge; MS SQL, Oracle, SQLite

 Experience with developing NLP applications for Information Extraction or
Question Answering

 Practical knowledge of phonetic alphabets

 Any knowledge of speech technology

 Experience with BNF and XML is a plus
